VAJRASANA:


DEFINITION: 
     “Vajra” means “diamond.”  The diamond is said to be the purest and strongest metal.  Likewise, when you
practise vajrasana, your body becomes strong and healthy.  Your mind becomes pure.  The body shines
like a diamond.  People, who are uncomfortable in practicing padmasana, can switch over to this asana
for full benefit.  Vajrasana gives a man sturdy look, vigor, and vitality.  The nerve ‘vajra nadi’ which runs
through the ankle is refreshed and strengthened.  Also, strengthens the entire psycho-physiological system.
 

TECHNIQUE:

1.     
Sit straight as give in the picture.
2.     
Bend both the legs.
3.     
The buttocks should be placed above the heels.  Both heels should be bent in such a way that all
         the phalanges are flattened and straight while touching the ground.

4.     
Keep the back straight and firm, look straight.
5.     
Both the hands should be placed on the knees.
6.     
His is the final stage of vajrasana.  

DURATION: 
From 10 to 20 minutes
