SARVANGASANA:DEFINITION: “Sarvanga” in Sanskrit language means “whole body.” Since the whole body organs are stimulated and refreshed by performing this asana, it is termed so. It is called “rani” (queen) asana in yoga sutra. Half of the benefit of sirasasana is got by practicing this pose. Best yogic pose for common people, office goers, and school students. Give good memory power for daily practitioners. TECHNIQUE: 1. 2. Keep your hands at the side of your hip with palms turned upwards. 3. Inhale and slowly raise the legs upwards completely. 4. Bend the elbows and support the raised body by placing it on your hips. 5. The toes should be straight when viewed. 6. The whole body weight should be transferred to shoulder and neck region. 7. Breathing should be normal. In the final stage, the body looks like English alphabet “L.” 1. 2. Stretch out your arms from balancing and keep them at the side of your body. 3. Take a deep breath and relax. BENEFITS: 1. Stimulates and activates the thyroid gland. 2. Nerves behind the neck are stimulated and strengthened. 3.
